Manlul 76: Aniversary In Paris

 

Hello! I'm back and exciting to tell you my adventures like the last one at the Paris Fashion Week. One more season Gala and I met there and millions of things happened (as usual), you will se it soon... The first show I went to was Lacoste. The french brand turned 85 and chose Paris to present the SS18 collection in a beautiful parade with live music. Although sportswear is always present in the Lacoste ready to wear shows, this time we could see a little retrospective of the brand but also the most trendy looks. Colors and fabrics were the highlights of the collection all presented in a set that evoked a tennis court. Going back to the city of love always brings back pleasure, just to walk around and admire the amazing architecture can be so inspiring. I can not wait to go back !. ¡Hola! Estoy de vuelta y con muchas ganas de seguir contando mis aventuras como la última en la Fashion Week de París. Una temporada más Gala y yo nos reunimos allí y como siempre nos pasaron millones de cosas que podréis ver próximamente... El primer show al que pude asistir fue el de Lacoste. La marca francesa cumplió 85 años y vuelve a desfilar en París donde presentó la colección SS18 en un desfile precioso ambientado con música en directo. Aunque en Lacoste siempre está presente la ropa deportiva, esta vez pudimos ver una especie de retrospectiva de la casa gala incluyendo la tendencia más actual. Me encantaron los colores y los tejidos de la colección y el set que montaron que recordaba a una pista de tenis. Volver a la ciudad del amor siempre es un placer, me encanta pasear por las calles e inspirarme con solo mirar la arquitectura. ¡Ya estoy deseando volver!. En las fotos llevo vaqueros, polo de manga larga, sudadera y zapatillas todo de Lacoste. ¡Feliz aniversario cocodrilo!. @miguelcarrizo

Manlul Of The Month: Twist & Shout

 

Marcos Montijano is the new Manlul of The Month and when I think of how to describe him, what comes to mind are the old Hollywood stars who, besides acting, could also sing and dance. They had that special thing he also has. Marcos exudes talent and grabs the attention of anyone who hears his deep singing voice or watches him moving his legs with the sound of music as he steps onto the stage. This year he has participated in several plays and musicals, TV series and many concerts as a vocalist for his own band Third Floor. Although he graduated in journalism, he had always been interested in the art world and from a very young age had begun to act and play the guitar. When you are with him you feel his positive energy and you get the excitement and strength he has to share with the world. Yesterday he gave a concert and you will see him again on screen very soon. I'm proud to present Marcos as Manlul of the month because in addition to being talented, he is a very good person. Go for it kid! @marcos.montijano

Marcos Montijano es el nuevo Manlul of The Month y cuando pienso en cómo describirle me vienen a la mente las antiguas estrellas de Hollywood que además de actuar sabían cantar y bailar. Tenían ese algo especial que él también tiene. Marcos derrocha talento y atrapa a cualquiera que le escuche cantar con su voz grave o le vea mover sus piernas al ritmo de la música cuando sube al escenario. Este año ha participado en varias obras de teatro y musicales, en series de televisión y en muchos conciertos como vocalista de su grupo Third Floor. Aunque se licenció en periodismo siempre se interesó por el mundo del arte y desde muy pequeño empezó a actuar y a tocar la guitarra. Cuando estás con el sientes esa energía y positividad que desprende y captas la ilusión y fuerza que tiene para compartir con el mundo. Ayer mismo dio un concierto y seguro que pronto le volvereis a ver en la pantalla. Marcos es un orgullo de Manlul porque a demás de talentoso es buena persona. ¡A por todas @marcos.montijano!.

Manlul Of the Month: Magical John Steiner

Ladies and gentlemen, the fabulous, John Steiner! If you've been following our adventures on Instagram you might have seen the beautiful days we spent in the amazing village of Cadaqués. In that amazing place is where our Manlul of The Month, Mr. Steiner, grew up.

John is of Swedish and Danish descent and although he was born in Switzerland, he spent his childhood with his family in this village loved by so many artists. Both, his sister Jessica and John himself have a very special charisma and when you meet them you feel that angel like quality inherited from his mother. When he became a teenager, John fell in love with everything that had to do with magic and the world of imagination and with effort and enthusiasm he became a professional magician. He currently lives in Los Angeles where his shows at private parties and the most exclusives events in Hollywood. He recently won the first prize in the important magic contest Magic Castle. When John begins to work his magic, no pun intended, everyone is always in awe at the movement of his hands. Growing up surrounded by people from all over the world and having been able to meet unique and talented people who constantly visit the beautiful family house every summer, has given John a very open personality and high level of education. Although everyone always assumes he's a foreigner and always speak to him in English, John speaks several languages and perfect Spanish and Catalán. In the mix it is good.

Damas y caballeros, con todos ustedes, ¡John Steiner!. Si habéis seguido nuestras andanzas en Instagram habréis visto que hemos estado varios días en el increíble pueblo de Cadaqués. En ese maravilloso lugar creció nuestro Manlul of The Month, Mr. Steiner. John tiene ascendencia sueca y danesa y aunque nació en Suiza, su infancia la pasó junto a su familia en este pueblo al que los artistas adoran. Tanto su hermana Jessica como el propio John tienen un carisma muy especial y cuando les conoces te transmiten ese ángel heredado de su madre. Desde su adolescencia, John se enamoró de todo lo que tenía que ver con la magia y el mundo de la imaginación y con esfuerzo y entusiasmo acabó convirtiéndose en mago profesional. Actualmente vive en Los Ángeles donde hace sus shows en fiestas privadas y en los mejores eventos de Hollywood. Recientemente ha ganado el primer premio en el importante certamen de magia Magic Castle y es que cuando John comienza a hacer su trucos todo el mundo se queda hipnotizado mirando como mueve las manos. El haber crecido rodeado de gente de todo el mundo y haber podido conocer a personas únicas y talentosas que visitan la preciosa casa familiar cada verano, ha hecho de John una persona abierta y con una educación elevada. A pesar de que todo el mundo le hable directamente en inglés por sus pintas de "guiri", John habla varios idiomas y digamos que es un escandinavo muy español. En la mezcla está lo bueno. Manlul Of The Month: Clement Chabernaud

May's Manlul of The Month is super model Clement Chabernaud. Many of you might know him since he started working as a model when he was 16 and he's been the face of a million campaigns getting more and more success every season. Nevertheless, Clemenet's best virtues are not his looks but his charisma and unpretentious simple way of being. He is a very special person who doesn't follow the unwritten behaviour rules of the fashion industry and still, he endears himself effortlessly wherever he goes, no matter what.

We met by chance many years ago and ever since, every time we see each other we have a blast together and with the rest of the gang. This happens pretty much every time I travel to New York city since Clement shares a cozy apartment with my brother Félix in the East Village. Last time I saw him I met his 86 year old grandmother whom Clement is very close with. He had talked to me about her many times, she's a petit amazing woman full of energy. She travels often with Clement from city to city when he is walking shows. This time, in Madrid Fashion Week, it was great to see how he was taking super good care of her making sure she was all right at all times, securing a seat for her at the shows etc.

Five years ago we drove together from Barcelona to Madrid. It was pouring down and Clement picked me up on a shabby Peugeot from yonks ago. Once in the motorway, already leaving the city behind, the car broke down… Clement got off the car and started using pliers under the rain… I didn't really had any hope of getting it fixed on the spot but after 15 minutes of wire touching he managed to make it work! so soaking wet, we kept on driving! haha! Buena suerte Clement!

El Manlul de este mes es el modelo Clement Chabernaud. Supongo que muchos lo conocéis porque hace todas las campañas del mundo y lleva trabajando desde los 16 años con más éxito cada temporada. Pero lo mejor de Clement es su carisma y sencillez, tiene un carácter muy especial, siempre a su bola sin seguir ningún protocolo pero haciéndose querer allá donde va. Nos conocimos hace muchos años por casualidad y desde entonces cada vez que nos vemos en alguna ciudad nos unimos una buena pandilla para celebrarlo. Cuando voy a NYC le suelo ver (sino está de viaje) porque vive con mi hermano en un apartamento muy acogedor en el East Village. La última vez que estuvimos juntos conocí a su abuela, Clement siempre me hablaba de ella. tiene 86 años y están muy unidos. Lo más fuerte es que se la lleva a los desfiles de ciudad en ciudad, ¡tiene más energía que nosotros!. Todo el mundo alucinaba al verle cuidar de ella, buscarlo un sitio y asegurarse de que estaba bien. Encima es muy pequeña y el altísimo jaja. Hace unos cinco años nos fuimos en coche de Barcelona a Madrid, Clement me recogió con un Peugot reventao del año catapún y saliendo de la ciudad en pleno diluvio nos quedamos tirados en la autopista. Él se bajó todo decidido y empezó a sacar alicates, yo pensé que ni de coña arrancábamos y ya estaba pensando en la grúa y todo el rollo… pero ¡después de 15 minutos tocando cables lo consiguió arreglar! Muy crack. ¡Buena suerte Chabernaud!

ManLul Of The Month: This is a Man's World

Alfonso Bassave, currently filming the Emperor King Carlos serie, is the Manlul Of The Month of the newly opened March. This 35-year-old actor, who has a degree in law, decided to change the books for scripts. After studing acting he has not stopped working on successful series and movies like 8 Citas and Presentimientos with very reputable actors and directors. Alfonso is currently working on being Francisco I of France, we're looking forward to seeing the results but we have to wait until September for the premier . Bassave, besides his talent in acting is also known for his good taste in fashion , combining different styles depending on the ocasion . All the clothes he's wearing in the pictures are his own and he did not need much advice to get the looks together.And best of all, he is going to be working on some new projects abroad ... Alfonso Break a leg!

Alfonso Bassave, en pleno rodaje de la serie Carlos Rey Emperador, es el Manlul Of The Month del recién inaugurado marzo. Este actor de 35 años estudió derecho a la vez que interpretación pero tenía claro que lo suyo eran  las tablas y después de estudiar interpretación no ha parado de enlazar trabajos en series y películas de éxito como 8 Citas y Presentimientos de Santiago Tabernero. El personaje en el que está trabajando Alfonso actualmente es Francisco I de Francia, estamos deseando verle pero tendremos que esperar al estreno el próximo Septiembre. Bassave , a demás de su buen hacer en la interpretación es también conocido por su buen gusto a la hora de vestir, combinando diferentes estilos según la ocasión. Toda la ropa que lleva en las fotos es suya y no necesitó muchos consejos para hacerse los looks. Y lo mejor de todo es que vienen nuevos proyectos en el extranjero… Alfonso Break a leg!
