Manlul 41: Rock and Flowers with Tommy Hilfiger

Since it's creation, the Tommy Hilfiger brand has been deeply intertwined with music. At his show on Monday, he gave a stellar tribute to the 60's and 70's featuring music by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and The Doors. 

The show's invite was a perfect clue as to what was to come: Colorful little vinyl records printed with star motifs gave it away.

The show's decor was breathtaking. Upon entering the great hall of the Arsenal, an iconic building in the heart of NYC, you could see his name lit in a circus inspired poster. The runway had become a  grass field filled with flowers everywhere. Flower power is back!!!

Two sets of drums flanked the stage, where seconds before showtime the beats started and who better to open the show than Georgia Jagger, daughter of rock and roll legend Mick Jagger. As she walked out an explosion of color, music and fun begun! It was very refreshing breaking away from the sobriety and restrain of many other shows.

Para Tommy Hilfiger, la moda está profundamente entrelazada con la música. En su desfile del lunes, dio todo un homenaje a los años 60 y 70 con música de Los Beatles, Los Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Who y The Doors. 

El tema de los iconos del rock y las inspiraciones se podían intuir al ver las invitaciones que eran pequeños discos de vinilo con muchas estrellas y colores. Al entrar en el enorme salón del Arsenal en Park Avenue, un edificio mítico de NYC, te quedabas impresionado con la decoración. Un gran cartel de luces estilo circo con su nombre, el suelo era de hierba y había miles de flores decorando el espacio, ¡vuelve el Flower Power!. Colocaron un escenario con dos baterías que empezaron a tocar unos segundos antes de que Georgia Jagger, la hija de Mick Jagger, abriera el desfile. ¡Una explosión de color, música y alegría! Muy divertido rompiendo con la sobriedad y aburrimiento de muchos otros desfiles.

In Tia María We Trust

Estás son algunas fotos de la campaña que hicimos en Ibiza el mes de julio para la campaña mundial de Tía María. Fue una experiencia única poder trabajar con Justin Wu y todo su equipo, a parte de ser unos grandes profesionales lo pasamos genial!

La leyenda de la TIA MARIA se remonta a mediados del siglo XVIII, cuando una joven y bella aristócrata española huyó de la guerra colonial a Jamaica. Su doncella salvó un tesoro de la familia, una pequeña caja de joyería con pendientes de perlas negras y un antiguo manuscrito con la receta de un licor misterioso. A la receta le pusieron el nombre de la valiente mujer: TIA MARIA. 

Fue entonces redescubierto en la década de 1950 por el Dr. Kenneth Leigh Evans, que comenzó a producirlo y comercializarlo. Y hasta hoy, que podemos encontrarlo en sesenta paises!

These are some of pics we shoot in Ibiza in July for Tia Maria Campaing. It was a real pleasure to work with Justin Wu and his team, we really had lots of fun!

The legend of TIA MARIA dates back to the mid-17th century, when a beautiful young Spanish aristocrat fled the turmoil colonial war brought to the island of Jamaica. Her maid saved one family treasure, a small jewelry box with black pearl earrings and an ancient manuscript with the recipe for a mysterious liqueur. The recipe was named after the courageous woman: TIA MARIA. It was then rediscovered in the 1950s by Dr. Kenneth Leigh Evans, who began to produce and market it. Still made to the original Caribbean recipe by ILLVA Saronno and distributed in over 60 countries, TIA MARIA is an exotic infusion of natural vanilla and the finest fresh coffee roasted to perfection,

complemented with a touch of Jamaican rum. Rich copper and golden amber tones blend with an enticing caramel nose to make TIA MARIA an ideal mixer in exotic cocktails.

África, I see you!

La verdad es que me daba bastante pereza tener que atravesar toda la Península conduciendo para pasar un fin de semana en Tarifa, pero la ocasión lo merecía: ¡mi amigo César Conti se casa! así que había que despedirlo como se merece. Después del agosto nublado que tuvimos en el norte sentí como si en pleno invierno nos hubiéramos escapado al Caribe o a algún sitio paradisiaco. Nada más llegar la energía empezó a sentirse, a parte de que no es muy difícil pasárselo bien siendo veintiún amigos con ganas de jarana. 

Ya había estado un par de veces hace años pero esta sin duda fue la mejor! Muchísimo ambiente, calor, chiringuitos… es un pueblo con un encanto especial. Lo más impresionante es estar tumbado en la arena y ver Marruecos ahí mismo, tan cerca. 

Quizás agosto está demasiado lleno pero la gente no pudo ser más amable, comimos y cenamos genial todos los días y nos pasamos horas en los chiringuitos bebiendo mojitos y haciéndo pasar a César un poco de vergüenza… Espero poder volver para el Festival de Cine Africano.

Manlul 40: Morning Moss

Waking up at the beach, wandering along the shore and reflecting on your dreams from the passed night, is one of the best things in this life.

The force of the waves with the radical tides washed off the sand, showing up all the rocks covered in beautiful green moss. Altough I´m still super sleepy in them photos, inhaling the fresh ocean air gives me the energy and perspective to be fully happy.

Despertarse frente al mar y dar un paseo todavía pensando en los sueños de la noche anterior es de lo mejor que hay. Con las mareas de este año y la fuerza de las olas mucha arena fue arrastrada y han aparecido nuevas rocas, y con ellas un musgo verde precioso. Aunque en las fotos estoy todavía dormido, respirar el aire del océano me dio la energía que necesitaba para estar feliz.

En las fotos llevo camiseta Asos, gafas Raen, zapatillas Superga, reloj Miró y toalla de Ábbatte.
