Manlul 41: Rock and Flowers with Tommy Hilfiger

Since it's creation, the Tommy Hilfiger brand has been deeply intertwined with music. At his show on Monday, he gave a stellar tribute to the 60's and 70's featuring music by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and The Doors. 

The show's invite was a perfect clue as to what was to come: Colorful little vinyl records printed with star motifs gave it away.

The show's decor was breathtaking. Upon entering the great hall of the Arsenal, an iconic building in the heart of NYC, you could see his name lit in a circus inspired poster. The runway had become a  grass field filled with flowers everywhere. Flower power is back!!!

Two sets of drums flanked the stage, where seconds before showtime the beats started and who better to open the show than Georgia Jagger, daughter of rock and roll legend Mick Jagger. As she walked out an explosion of color, music and fun begun! It was very refreshing breaking away from the sobriety and restrain of many other shows.

Para Tommy Hilfiger, la moda está profundamente entrelazada con la música. En su desfile del lunes, dio todo un homenaje a los años 60 y 70 con música de Los Beatles, Los Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Who y The Doors. 

El tema de los iconos del rock y las inspiraciones se podían intuir al ver las invitaciones que eran pequeños discos de vinilo con muchas estrellas y colores. Al entrar en el enorme salón del Arsenal en Park Avenue, un edificio mítico de NYC, te quedabas impresionado con la decoración. Un gran cartel de luces estilo circo con su nombre, el suelo era de hierba y había miles de flores decorando el espacio, ¡vuelve el Flower Power!. Colocaron un escenario con dos baterías que empezaron a tocar unos segundos antes de que Georgia Jagger, la hija de Mick Jagger, abriera el desfile. ¡Una explosión de color, música y alegría! Muy divertido rompiendo con la sobriedad y aburrimiento de muchos otros desfiles.

NYC FASHION WEEK (II): Diesel Black Gold

Otro de los desfiles a los que asistí en la NYFW fue al de Diesel Black Gold, allí pude hacer unas cuantas fotos y encontrarme con muchos editores de la prensa española y algunos amigos que también estaban invitados. El desfile fue muy rápido y muy cómodo, no lo típico que se eterniza y te asas de calor o de frío y la música chulísima, como brasileña. Me gustaron sobretodo los abrigos, a ver si puedo ver pronto la colección de hombre. Para el desfilé me puse una camisa de A Kind Of Guise, mis vaqueros Diesel preferidos, zapatos Camper y gafas Raen Optics.

Another show I attended during NY Fashion Week was Diesel Black Gold where I was able to take few nice shots. I met some editors, many of them from Spain and ran in to few friends. The show ran very smooth and quickly. There was no stress and it was not like at some other shows where you either swelter or freeze.

I also loved the music, a nice mix with some brazilian drum circle sounds. As for the clothes, I especially liked the coats. I actually can't wait to go through the menswear collection. 

I wore a A Kind Of Guise shirt, fav Diesel jeans, Camper shoes and Raen Optics shades.
