Shoreditch

A few days ago I flew to London to attend a Hugo Boss party and whilst there visit some friends. It had been a long time since I was last in London and had forgotten how much I love this city. These were a few inspiring and joyful days. I spent most of my time in the city in Shoreditch, East London. This is a neighborhood teeming with life, young and hip people, bars, restaurants… On our first night out we headed towards Shoreditch House, one of those clubs in which you can only go have a drink if you are a member or if you are invited by one of them. I loved the place, all the rooms had their own chimney, the restaurant is huge, bar, ping pong tables… The overall feeling was that I was in a huge house high in the Alps in Switzerland. On my way to London, during the plane flight, I met a guy who was sitting next to me, we chatted during the whole flight and he ended up inviting me to a party hosted by one of his friends. Alice Temperley and her ex-husband were hosting a party and that was the reason my new friend was going. The party was truly incredible, a big house rented for the occasion, live music, a huge circus carp in the garden and the dress code was ¨black magic¨. I Danced, met new friends and chatted the night off. 

One of the things I enjoyed the most of this trip was an impressive play we watched ¨The Drowned Man¨,AMAZING. As you walk into the venue and you move across the floors on your own, you have to wear a Venetian mask and follow your best judgement to where you want to go. On the way, you come across the actors that act and dance . The decoration is spectacular and you have the chance to interact with the actors, but never talk to them. It was an incredibly special experience. Thank you Gala for being the best host, I hope to come back soon!

Hace unos días viajé a Londres para ir a una fiesta de Hugo Boss y de paso visitar amigos. Hacía tiempo que no iba y casi se me había olvidado lo que me gusta la cuidad; fueron unos días muy risas e inspiradores. La mayor parte del tiempo lo pasé en Shoreditch, al este de Londres. Es un barrio lleno de vida, de gente joven, bares, restaurantes.. La primera noche fuimos al Shoreditch House, uno de esos clubs al que solo puedes ir si eres miembro o alguno de ellos te invita. Me gustó muchísimo, todas las salas con chimeneas, tiene un restaurante enorme, bar, mesas de ping pong.. Parecía una especie de casa suiza enorme. 

De la que volaba hacía allí conocí a un chico que estaba sentado a mi lado, hablamos todo el vuelo y me acabó invitando a una fiesta de unos amigos suyos. Alice Temperley y su exmarido montaban un fiestón y por eso iba para allí. La verdad es que fue increíble, una casa enorme alquilada para esa noche, una banda tocando, montaron una jaima en el jardín.. y el "dress code"  de la noche era "magia negra". Muchos bailes y charlas y nuevos amigos.

Otra de las cosas que más me gustó de los días que estuve allí fue una obra de teatro impresionante que fuimos a ver "The Drowned Man", ENORME. Entras en un edificio y te vas moviendo por los pisos tu solo, tienes que llevar una especie de máscara veneciana y seguir tus impulsos de por dónde quieres ir. Te vas encontrando con los actores que hacen escenas y bailes espectaculares. La decoración es alucinante y puedes interactuar con ellos pero nunca hablar. Un experiencia realmente especial. Muchas gracias Gala por ser la mejor anfitriona, ¡espero volver pronto!

Manlul 21: Bricks&Blue

Los hombres tenemos muy poco donde elegir cuando se trata de complementos así que en esta época de frío el gorro puede ser perfecto para estar abrigado y darte un toque. También las mochilas, no bolsos tal cual  eso se los dejamos a las mujeres, pero si una bolsa como esta de Henten hecha a mano con las mejores pieles. Y por supuesto, el reloj. Para este look en tonos azules elegí un Zitizien vintage heredado de una persona muy especial, un gran artista que ya no está con nosotros. Llevo jersey y gorro de Top Shop, vaqueros Diesel, abrigo Victorio & Luccino y zapatillas Camper diseñadas por Roamin Kremer.

Men have very little choice when it comes to accessories, so in this cold weather a hat may be perfect for extra warmth and it can give your style a nice a touch.  Also backpacks, not handbags, we leave that for women, but a bag like this by Henten crafted with the finest leathers. And of course, the watch. For this look in blue tones I chose a vintage Zitizien inherited from a very special person, a great artist who is no longer with us. The sweater and the hat that I am wearing are from Top Shop with Diesel jeans, Luccino Victorio coat  & Camper shoes designed by Romain Kremer. @miguelcarrizo

La semana pasada tuve el gusto de asistir con Eugenia Silva a la apertura de la nueva tienda de Massimo Dutti en La Rue de la Paix. Me encantó volver a París aunque fuera una visita express y disfrutar de sus calles y su arquitectura. A medio día fui a buscar mi outfit para el evento y elegí una chaqueta de napa granate que me va perfecta con mi moto y unos botas marrones de piel que hacía tiempo que quería, jersey marrón y pantalón beige todo de Dutti. 

La nueva tienda auna lo teconológico con las compras al estilo tradicional ya que han instalado dos pantallas Video Wall en las que se reproducen diferentes contenidos de la marca. También se ha habilitado una zona kiosko en la que  los clientes pueden consultar la página web y hacer compras, desde la misma tienda, en el caso de  que el producto que estén buscando no esté disponible. 

El evento estuvo animadísimo gracias al grupo de música que tocó, Manu Katché y el buen ambiente de los invitados.El catering  corrió a cargo de Albert Adrià y su equipo; tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer la cocina que montaron ocasionalmente en la trastienda y fue un lujo ver como preparaban orquídeas comestibles, espardeñas y pulpitos, mini airbags de queso payoyo... ¡todo riquísimo y muy original! El equipo de Massimo Dutti se portó genial y allí nos hicimos pandilla con David Genat, el modelo de la nueva campaña y mi amiga Berta Bernad, otra de las invitadas que vino desde Londres.

Last week I attended the opening of the new Massimo Dutti boutique in Paris with Eugenia Silva. I love to go back to France and although my stay was short-lived I always get pleasure from roaming the streets of Paris and their characteristic and unique ‘Haussmannian’ architecture. The first thing I did after setting foot in the city was trying out different outfits for the event. I chose  a maroon leather jacket that perfectly matched my motor bike, a brown sweater and beige trousers all by Dutti. Choosing the perfect outfit turned out to be absolute drudgery, everything in this massive shop was absolutely fabulous. 

The new global store concept Rue de la Paix no 18 was designed by architect Charles Lefèvre and is located in the exclusive and iconic quartier de la place Vendôme. Inside there are two video wall screens that display exclusive brand footage. 

The venue and the party were stunning, the band, Manu Katché got the crowd dancing and notorious Catalan chef, Albert Adrià, made exquisite and original dishes.

I met David Genat, the Dutti leading campaign model of and my good friend, photographer and blogger Berta Bernad who came especially from London for the occasion; we had a great time. I would like to thank the entire crew and organizing staff for a tremendous evening.
