Manlul 52: NY Fashion Week + Custo Barcelona

NYC Fashion Week it's over! And although it was kind of hard to breathe because of the icy air (Reaching -15C ) ! Custo Barcelona managed to warm up the temperature of the Big Apple with the warmth of their fabrics and colors on his lastest collection. It was a crazy week , running from show to show, presentations, going out with friends ... and caught up in the general chaos of the city . I always get very inspired in NYC and it frees my mind a lot. I enjoy seeing so much diversity and variety of colors and people but most of all the freedom. But I'm not coming back until the weather gets better!

What I liked the most of the Custo show were the coats and the ponchos, with that seventies bohemian touch that I like so much . See you next season !

Acaba de terminar la Fashion Week de NYC  y a pesar de que costaba respirar de lo frío que estaba el aire (llegamos a -15C)! Custo Barcelona consiguió subir la temperatura de la Gran Manzana con la calidez de sus tejidos y colores de su última colección. No paramos ni un segundo, corriendo de desfile en desfile, presentaciones, viendo a amigos… y envueltos en la vorágine general de la ciudad. Siempre vuelvo muy inspirado y con la mente abierta, disfruto viendo tanta diversidad y variedad de colores, y sobretodo, libertad. Eso sí, ¡hasta que no haga más calor no vuelo!.

Del desfile de Custo lo que más destaco son los abrigos y los ponchos, que desprendían el toque bohemio y setentero que tanto me gusta. ¡nos vemos la próxima temporada!

Esta edición de la NY Fashion Week pude disfrutar de muchos desfiles pero uno de mis preferidos fue el de Diesel Black Gold. (Los que seguís mi Instagram habréis visto alguna foto).

Y es uno de mis preferidos porque siempre arriesgan con su música, modelos y dirección artística. 

Otra cosa genial fue el no tener que pasar el frío de la última edición el pasado febrero. Me encantó reencontrarme con amigos y compañeros del mundillo y poder charlar en la calle tranquilamente con ellos sin estar tiritando. Estas son algunas de las fotos que hice antes y durante el desfile. De la que salíamos del  me encontré a Nicola Formichetti director creativo de Diesel al que conocí en Venecia cuando presentó su primera colección en un espectacular show. ¡Muchas gracias a todo el equipo en especial a Pedro Barrios por ser siempre tan amables! En las fotos llevo camiseta y pantalón de Diesel y zapatillas de Pedro García.

In this edition of NY Fashion Week I attended many shows but one of my favorite was the Diesel Black Gold. (Those of you who follow me on Instagram have already seen some pics). 

This show is one of my favourites because it's always quite different from other ny shows, they take risks and do a great job when it comes to music, models or art direction. 

It was great to reconnect with friends and colleagues I ran in to and being able to chat in the street and not freeze like last feabruary!.

These are some of the pictures I took before and during the show. When we were leaving I ran in to Nicola Formichetti, Creative Director at Diesel, whom I had met in Venice when he presented his first collection with a spectacular show.

Many thanks to the whole Diesel family especially to Pedro Barrios for always being so kind and taking such good care of us! In these photos I'm wearing shirt and pants by Diesel and Pedro Garcia shoes.

Hugo Boss presentó su nueva colección en un espectacular edificio en pleno centro de Manhattan y allí estuve yo para hacer de fotógrafo/paparazzi (Si me seguís en Instagram habréis visto un pequeño adelanto).
Gala González fue la presentadora en streaming para Boss entrevistando a los invitados y comentando el desfile. Es algo muy difícil de hacer ya que en directo no tienes opción a equivocarte y tienes que estar muy atento a las respuestas que te dan y no relajarte ni un segundo, y a la vez, estar relajado. Desde aquí le doy mi enhorabuena porque hizo un trabajo increíble, ¡un nivel muy alto! Aprendí mucho de ella en este viaje.

Para mi fue una suerte tener la oportunidad de fotografiar a actores de la talla de Gwyneth Palthrow, Reese Wintherspoon (las dos con Oscar), Gerald Butler..  me hizo especial ilusión conocer a Adele Exarchopoulos protagonista de "La vida de Adèle". es muy simpática y natural, le conté que yo también estudiaba interpretación y estuvimos hablando un rato. Su trabajo en la película me parece espectacular,  transmite una verdad muy difícil de conseguir, ¡además era su primera película! increíble. Una Palma de Oro merecida.

También estaba por allí Kevin Lobo, el director creativo de Hugo Boss hombre, un personaje muy elegante, me llamó mucho la atención su corte de pelo y el traje impecable que llevaba. El backstage era enorme, incluso más grande que la zona del desfile. Una gran producción  y el decorado cuidadísimo con muchas flores y musgo, por lo visto el jardinero tuvo que estar toda la noche regando cada cinco minutos.. jaja.

Hugo Boss launched its new Fall collection in a spectacular building in the heart of Manhattan and I was there to play photographer / paparazzi ( If you follow me on Instagram you've probably seen a small preview ) .

At the show I had the opportunity to photograph amazing actors such as Gwyneth Palthrow and Reese Witherspoon (whom are both Oscar winners), as well as leading actor Gerald Butler .. It was particularly cool meeting Adèle Exarchopoulos protagonist of "Blue is the warmest color" she's very down to earth and natural. I shared with her my acting career and we talked about acting for awhile. Her work in the film is simply spectacular. Her performance transmits real truth, a very difficult thing to achieve sometimes... so hard to believe it was her first film! Amazing. A very well deserved Palme D'or.

Gala Gonzalez was the hostess for Boss and her interviews and thoughts on the show were streamed live. This can be quite challenging and Gala did an incredible job. You have to constantly be on your toes and be very attentive to the answers given and you really can't relax for a second. At the same time you have to be relaxed and confident... not that easy! A big shout out to Gala for doing such a great job!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Kevin Lobo,who is the creative director of Hugo Boss men, quite a character! His  haircut and the impeccable suit he was wearing really caught my attention. The backstage was huge, even bigger than the show area. Great production and meticulously decorated with many flowers and moss , apparently the gardener had to stay up all night watering every five minutes …haha
