Manlul 45: Men of the Year

Those who follow me on Instagram have already seen that Gala and I attended the GQ Men Of The Year Awards in Madrid. This edition was even more special since the magazine was also celebrating its 20th anniversary.  

The Palace Hotel was once again the venue chosen by GQ to celebrate the best actors, models, directors, entrepreneurs and other professionals from different fields. As always it was a very special night and we had lots of fun surrounded by many friends. After having a welcome cocktail we had a dinner in one of the hotel spaces under a beautiful glass dome. The Art direction was great, all decorated in white. I was really lucky with my table mates, it was such a hilarious dinner! Model David Gandy was given one of the awards (model of the year) and he certainly captured all eyes all night long. I covered my face when our picture was taken… I wanted to avoid too much contrast haha. 

J.W. Anderson, Jeremy Hackett, Diego Osorio, DJ Gerard Estadella, actors Peter Vives, Diego Martin, Jan Cornet and Alfonso Bassave were also among the invitees. 

For the occasion, I chose a Roberto Verino tuxedo and Pedro Garcia shoes. Thanks to GQ and Conde Nast for such a great night. See you next year!

Los que me seguis en Instagram habréis visto que un año más Gala y yo acudimos a los Premios que la revista GQ organiza para premiar a los Hombres Del Año. El Hotel Palace fue una vez más el lugar elegido para galardonar a los mejores actores, modelos, directores, empresarios y otros profesionales de diferentes ámbitos. Siempre es una noche de las más especiales y divertidas porque nos reunimos un montón de amigos, y este año incluso más porque GQ cumplía 20 años. Después de tomar el cóctel pasamos a la cena donde todas las mesas y el escenario estaba decorado en blanco. Es importante con quien te toque cenar porque lo puedes pasar muy bien o no tan bien según quien esté sentado a tu alrededor. Nosotros siempre tenemos suerte y fue una cena divertidísima. El modelo David Gandy fue uno de los premiados y la estrella de la noche. Como es tan alto y "el modelo del año" al hacerme la foto con él me tapé la cara porque no quiero que haya tanto contraste, jaja. Un tipo muy majo y muy cercano. Diego Osorio, el DJ Gerard Estadella, los actores Peter Vives y Alfonso Bassave fueron algunos de los invitados. Para esta noche elegí un smoking de Roberto Verino y zapatos de Pedro García.

Gracias a GQ y Conde Nast por una noche genial, ¡nos vemos el año que viene!

The first time I met Diego Osorio was at a  Mario Testino and Vogue party two years a go. For some reason I didn't realize this party was a black tie event and when I showed up in black jeans and sweater, It was the first time I've really ever felt uncomfortable with my outfit. Diego was amongst the guest and we share a few friends in common, the moment he saw me he came up and said "Finally! Someone well dressed! That same night we became friends and I realized he was a guy with an authentic charm. 

Diego exudes certain elegance wich has not gone unnoticed by iconic brands such as Zegna and Ralph Lauren, who have chosen him to be their ambassador. He's crazy about surf and sports in general and enjoys the little things that life has to offer, walks with his dog or even rides with his motorbike, another of his passions. He's an unconditional guest at many fashion events and always appears on the best dressed lists. He's the life of the party and always makes the people around him feel comfortable. 

Son of the Marques de Balbases and Conde of Corzana, this it-boy, model and business man can't be more humble and down to earth. You can follow him on instagram @diegoosorio1. He's wearing Marc Jacob jeans, John Varbatos shirt, Kenzo sweater and Dior Homme coat.

La primera vez que conocí a Diego Osorio fue en una fiesta de Mario Testino y Vogue. No sé por qué esa noche no caí en que había que ir muy elegante y me presenté en el palacio donde se celebraba el evento con unos vaqueros y un jersey negro, fue la primera vez que me sentí fuera de lugar por la ropa que llevaba. Diego y yo estábamos con el mismo grupo porque teníamos amigos comunes y él se acercó a mi y me dijo: ¡Hombre, por fin alguien bien vestido! Esa misma noche nos hicimos amigos y rápidamente me di cuenta que era un tipo con un carisma especial.

La elegancia es algo que le viene dado y marcas como Zegna o Polo Ralph Lauren han elegido a Diego como símbolo del buen gusto para que sea su embajador. Este amante del surf y del deporte en general, disfruta de los pequeños placeres de la vida como salir de paseo con su perra o recorrer unos kilómetros en moto, otra de sus pasiones. Es un incondicional de los eventos más importantes de moda y siempre aparece en las listas de los mejores vestidos. También suele ser el que anima al grupo e intenta que todos estén a gusto a su alrededor.

Hijo del Marqués de los Balbases y conde de Corzana, este it-boy, modelo y empresario no puede ser más sencillo y cercano, podéis seguirle en instagram @diegoosorio1.

Un año más la revista GQ entregó los premios a Los Hombres del Año y allí nos reunimos unos cuantos amigos para celebrarlo. La mesa en la que me tocó sentarme estuvo genial, éramos todos jóvenes y estábamos animados y con ganas de fiesta así que después de comer una lasaña y un solomillo buenísimo y de que entregaran los premios rápidamente nos levantamos a bailar la música que pinchó Gerard. Fue una noche larga y divertida, después del Hotel Palace nos fuimos al Tony 2, un piano bar con mucho encanto, y de allí a otra fiesta.. Una velada para recordar. Gracias a  todos los amigos por hacer que lo pasáramos tan bien!

Para asistir a este evento tuve la suerte de ponerme un smoking y camisa de Zegna y unos zapatos de Burberry.

Like every year, GQ Magazine organized the Men of the Year Awards and I had the chance to celebrate with them and with a really nice group of friends.

I had the best company on my table, all of us were young and definitely in a party mood so right after eating some delicious lasagna and filet mignon, and once all the awards were handed to the lucky winners, we started dancing non stop to the music Gerard was playing. It was a long and super fun night. After the Hotel Palace we headed to TONY 2, a very unique piano bar in the centre of Madrid, and from there to another party… a night to remember!

I wore tuxedo and shirt by Zegna and shoes by Burberry.
